Where it started
I learned to cook standing on a kitchen chair, stirring whatever my mother let me stir. Sunday was the day everyone came to the table, and the kitchen was the warmest room in the house.

What changed
Over the years I wanted food that felt a little lighter, without losing the comfort. So I started swapping: less sugar, more whole grains, fruit where there used to be syrup. My family didn't notice. They just asked for seconds.

Why I wrote these books
Friends kept asking for my recipes, scribbled on the backs of envelopes. So I gathered my favorites and wrote them down properly, with clear steps and ingredients you can find at any store.
